Meet Our Team

Our team brings together expertise from aerospace engineering, thoroughbred breeding, wearable technology, cloud infrastructure, and product development to bring data-driven innovation to the thoroughbred industry.

Ben Bernhard

Ben Bernhard

CEO

Ben Bernhard holds an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and a Master's in Space Engineering from Caltech. He served as a Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer for two years at SpaceX, leading mission design for numerous Falcon rocket launches. Transitioning to Vice President of Pin Oak Stud, he aimed to integrate data-driven solutions into the farm's operations. Identifying a significant technology gap, he launched Stable Analytics to develop modern engineering and data science solutions for the thoroughbred industry, with Pin Oak Stud as its first client.

Byron Rogers

Byron Rogers

Director of Research & Development

Byron Rogers has extensive experience in the thoroughbred industry, including eight years at Arrowfield Stud, Australia, where he contributed to the success of leading sire Redoute's Choice. He later joined Taylor Made Farm in Kentucky as the director of the stallion division, managing prominent sires such as Unbridled's Song and Forestry. In 2009, he co-founded TrueNicks LLC, a world-leading nick pedigree rating and Pedigree Consultants LLC, followed in 2011 by Performance Genetics LLC an analytics company that built predictive models for the thoroughbred industry. In 2024, he became Director of Research and Development at Stable Analytics LLC.

Tim McGrath, PhD

Tim McGrath, PhD

Director of Engineering

Dr. Tim McGrath's graduate research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (S.M. 2017, Ph.D. 2020) focused on the development of next generation, unintrusive wearable sensors for human performance. In 2017, he founded a company to commercialize advanced wearables in the human sports performance and therapeutic rehabilitation spaces. Later, in 2021, he joined NASA to build wearables for space suit applications and would go on to develop biomedical data science platforms for next-generation Mars missions. He brought this unique expertise in wearables and data science to Stable Analytics in 2024 to pioneer techniques within the equine injury and performance domain.

Danny Purcell

Danny Purcell

Staff Software Engineer

Danny Purcell holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Missouri Western State University and served as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps. With over a decade of professional software engineering experience, he has held senior roles at Cerner Corporation, New Context Services, and Udacity, specializing in cloud platform development, DevOps, and security-focused infrastructure automation. As an independent consultant, he built and deployed custom SaaS solutions on AWS and developed cross-platform applications. He brings deep expertise in cloud architecture and full-stack development to Stable Analytics.

Kylie Schmidt
